Cyprus Youth Council Summer School

We would like to inform you for the Summer School of the Cyprus Youth Council, entitled "Young People and Volunteering in Cyprus", held in Paphos the weekend 17 to 19 June 2011.  The event gathered 75 young people who addressed the issue of volunteerism, which is designated by the European Commission as the European Year for 2011.

People who attended had the opportunity through non-formal education to operate and work on issues relating to volunteering. The training conducted by experienced members of the Pool of Trainers in Cyprus Youth Council, which specializes in volunteerism.  During the Summer School was presented to the European Voluntary Service (EVS), participants from the European Training Programme on "Get Involved with the European Voluntary Service" made the CYC the same place. The young people had the opportunity to talk with individuals who participate in European Voluntary Service, and to share their own experiences on the opportunities offered by volunteering.  The activity was held successfully as young people who attended our expressed their full satisfaction for the action of the Summer School.
