From 25th till 30 of July in Saxon – Sion near Nancy young people from 6 European countries meet to reflect about participation through entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship is one of the eight key competences for life-long learning and we believe that youth participation is not possible without a certain sense of initiative and entrepreneurial mindset. We understand entrepreneurship in a broad sense. The reflection week enabled to discuss young people how they can realize their ideas and look for solution to local problems through social entrepreneurship, establishing their own NGOs or charities and other activities.
This reflection week is a part of 12 months project Youth Participation Ambassadors that will give an opportunity to 72 young people from 6 countries to become real youth leaders and promote youth participation in their local communities. These young people will be able to participate in a complex self-development programme that will provide them with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to become active social actors.
National project teams will be created in the UK, France, Luxembourg, Italy, Estonia and Turkey. These teams will meet regularly, discuss about youth participation and various pressing problems for young people. They will also meet local decision-makers, NGO representatives and youth policy experts to exchange with them their experience. There will be 36 local youth meetings organised during the project that will bring together over 700 participants.
